Handicap - 34, it has been lower but unfortunately it keeps climbing in the wrong direction.
Favourite Golf Course (except for Leek Obviously) - My favourite golf courses, other than our fabulous Leek course are Denstone, Ashbourne and Disley, where I held my Lady Captain’s away day.
Favourite Golf club - My 6 and 9 irons, they usually get me out of the tricky situations my other clubs put me in!
When and Where did you start golf?
I started playing golf at Leek Golf Club back in 1984 mainly due to both my parents playing here and my FOMO nature. I think I may the holder of one of the longest memberships, 40 years, maybe I should get a prize.
What you enjoy about Golf the most and a little story about your golf?
I enjoy golf mainly for the friendships and camaraderie or our lovely section. I have made some great friends and enjoy the fun with them on the course at home, away and in the 19th hole. The girls here are encouraging and supportive. There was a period I was unable to play golf when I was at full stretch working full time and having a family. I kept up my membership but coming back to play golf was absolutely daunting, it had been so long. However, a group of ladies tucked me under their wings and welcomed me back. Some of these ladies have since retired from golf play and are now house members but I thank each and every one of them.
