Liam Hancock - 1836 Tour Report
October 2015 events…
On Monday, 5 October Liam entered the 1836 Tour Pro-am at Ringway GC along with Leek Golf Club Junior, Callum Nixon as the amateur. Despite Callums knees knocking on the first tee when the announcement came for him to tee off, he was soon settled as Liam drove his tee shot onto the first green some 327yds out with an easy two putt birdie to start the round.
Both played very well with Callum scoring well on his shot holes meant that the pair finished with a very credible 64 nett, not quite good enough for the win. Liam shot a very solid 68, three under par to win 3rd place on his own taking a nice cheque home.
On Thursday, 8 October Liam entered a very large field at St Anne's old course, Lytham, with notable names being Sam Connor and Marcus Armitage both leading the Europro Tour money list for 2015 along with Ashley Chesters who is fresh of his two European Tour invites at the Alfred Dunhill Links and the British Masters at Woburn.
Liam played very solid again around this 7000 yard links course with a three under par 69 tied 6th place with Ashley Chesters, both collecting another cheque for the week, the event was won by Challenge Tour player Jack Senior with a superb 66.
Liam has started working with Lee Westwood academy coach, Mike Donald based at High Leigh golf complex, they are working on building consistency in his swing, and by this week's results the work is certainly paying off.
