Club bar card
We are upgrading our current bar till and handicapping systems. Due to this upgrade, members will not be able to use their current bar cards after Sunday 22nd March 2015. New bar cards with any balance transferred will be available for collection from the pro shop from Wednesday 25th March 2015. Only cash and debit or credit cards will be accepted during the 3 day upgrade period. The new cards will be exchanged FREE of charge, but any future replacements will incur a £4 charge.
Competition Handicap
All players must have a competition handicap to be able to win a Club Competition or to enter any Club Knockout Competition. Any member who submitted at least 3 qualifying Scores in Club Competitions during 2014 has a competition handicap for 2015 (designated by the letter 'c' after their name on the Handicap List).
To maintain a competition handicap a player must submit, at least, 3 qualifying scores from Club Competitions for each playing season (scores cannot be carried over from one season to the next). A player may not win a competition from their own club or any other club without a competition handicap.
To regain a competition handicap a player must submit a total of 3 qualifying scores from Club Competitions or 3 supplementary scores or a combination of both to a total of 3.
Leek Golf Club requirements for supplementary scores:
Supplementary Scores may only be returned at a players Home Club
An acceptable Supplementary Score must be played over a Measured Course (i.e. yellow tees) under competition play conditions. The format may be Stroke Play (Medal) or Stableford and the Score must be returned over 18 holes.
The player must signify their intention of returning a supplementary score, prior to starting the round, with the professional's shop and their card must be marked by a member who holds a current competition handicap.
Supplementary Scores are limited to one per week.
All scores returned will be subject to handicap adjustment based on the SSS of the measured course and therefore only apply when all yellow tees are in play.
A Player in Category 1 with a 'Non Competition' handicap on the 1st March may return up to a maximum of 3 Supplementary Scores to regain a Competition handicap.
A player in Category 1 with a competition handicap on the 1st March may not return any supplementary scores until September 1st and then only as many as required up to a maximum of 3 in order to retain a competition handicap.
Staff's PGA Winter Pro AMs
South Staffs -Thursday 5th March
In the 1st winter Pro Am we were to play South Staffordshire Golf Club, after a promising start from both myself and my team (Dave Griffiths, Mark Shea and Dave Fowler) we managed to throw it on the back 9, the finishing results were - Individual 28 points and Team 73 points.
Little Aston - Wednesday 11th March
After pretty much 12 months of not so good golf, I finally found a bit of form at one of my favourite courses Little Aston and managed to win the Pros Individual comp with a score of 38 points! The team score of 76 was just out of the prizes but we let it slip on the back 9 and should have done better. I would like to thank Dave Lowe, Rob Woolliscroft and Dave Fowler for their continued support of these events.
Next stop Whittington Heath!
