Leek Golf Club Course update 08/02/2018 Work continues on the 13th tee, the turf has been removed, area levelled next step is to lay turf, when the weather permits. Today the greens staff have had to deal with yet more fallen trees due to the bad weather. Course working parties In an effort to help clean up the course following the bad weather, it is proposed to hold working parties, if you feel you have a few hours to spare to join a working party please add your name, the date(s)/times you would be available to help on the signup sheet in the professional shop. Initially the working party activities will be limited to picking/raking up/removing fallen branches/sticks from the golf course, one hole at a time. All members willing to assist will be given a health and safety briefing covering the activities involved. First working party date (subject to numbers available) Tuesday 13th March 2018 time to be determined by availability. Bunkers We have started the process of putting sand into the bunkers ready for the start of the season; this is an ongoing activity over the next month.
When required for safety if a flag is on the main green it will be moved to the temporary green for as long as it takes to add and spread the sand out in that greens bunkers, it will then be returned to the main green when the work is completed, we endeavour to minimise impact to the members.
