Handicap changes Do you feel your Handicap is too low to compete with your friends and in Competitions? Help is at hand! Handicaps as high as 54 now available to all Golfers – Juniors, Ladies & Gents. Before you all get too excited: CONGU, the Authority that is responsible for all Handicaps, have introduced two new Categories, 5 and 6. - Categories 1, 2 and 3 will remain the same for all players.
- Category 4 will be 20.5 to 28.4.
- Category 5 will be 28.5 to 36.4.
- Category 6 will be 36.5 to 54.
This initiative is designed to help all beginners, allocated a Cat. 5 or 6 Handicap, who will be able to measure their progress with Supplementary Scores. More importantly it will help our aging players whose ability is declining. An increase in Handicap to above 28 will enable them to retain a competitive edge and hopefully extend their playing careers.
All this information, and much more, is available on the CONGU website – www.congu.co.uk. *An explanation of changes to Supplementary Scores and how Competitions will be affected will follow later. Watch this space! M Barker (Match Secretary). |
