Captain's Charity Update

Dear Leek Golf Club,

MeghanOn behalf of our daughter Meghan Kewley we would just like to say a big Thank you to all that were involved in raising money for the Captains Charity Day. We have enclosed a picture of Meghan in her new powered wheelchair.

Just waiting for a couple of adaptions for Meghan's comfort and support. The wheelchair will last her a long time as it is made to grow with her.

Sorry we haven't contacted you before as we only received the finished wheelchair this week. We cannot put into words how grateful that we are and cannot thank you all enough for your generosity.

Yours Sincerely,
Amanda, Michael and Meghan Kewley

Competition news

North Staffs Past Captains

2016 marked the 50th anniversary of the Ladies Past Captains Society in North Staffordshire.

To mark this milestone they invited their gentlemen counterparts to a mixed competition at Patshull Park Golf Club in October.

Day 1 saw a team competition with the best lady and best gentleman scoring stableford points for their team. After 18 holes the winning team of Trish Sandy (Brocton), Sue Molyneux (Trentham Park), Paul Holloway (Barlaston) and Leeks Lincoln Boulton were presented with their prizes by Frances Lilley in her capacity as President of the Ladies Society.

Jayne Baxter (Leek), Alan Hulme (Westwood) and Linda Gregory (Trentham Park) also received prizes generously provided by sponsors.

Day 2 saw a number of Ladies and Gentlemen play in an individual stableford competition over 18 holes. Once again Leek were among the prize winners with Ann Cockersole beating all the other Ladies and Mike Wootton finishing as the Men's runner up.

Overall the event was highly successful and is likely to be repeated possibly on an annual basis.

Mike Wootton
