Lady Captain's Charity Day 

The Lady Captain's charity day was held on 28th September in aid of her chosen charity, Ward 202, chemotherapy unit, Royal Stoke University Hospital. 36 players competed for the "3 shires trophy" playing a 4BBB and all players amazingly managed to play in lovely weather. 

After a meal in the clubhouse, the Lady Captain thanked everyone for supporting the charity day with special thanks to sponsors F. Ball & Co; B.K. Industrial Supplies; Whites Laundry; Cottage Delights; Sainsbury's and The Retreat. Thanks also went for donations from Greg Rogula, Mike Andrews and Mr & Mrs M. Rushton. She went on to thank everyone involved in the day, Greg & Jake for doing the cards, Nel Boulton & Deb Barnet for registration; greens staff, bar & catering staff, office staff and Mr Starter Alan Bonehill. 

Results:- 

1st Prize - 77 points (won on the back 9) from The Manor golf club Patrick Cullen; Louise Wllmore; Ian Hadrell; Brenda Hadrell (pictured receiving their prize from lady captain Pat Beeson)

2nd Prize - 77 points from Leek Golf club Andrew Baxter; Jayne Baxter; Karen Wilshaw; Ralph Harrison .

Raffle 

Thank you to everyone who purchased a raffle ticket for the Cottage Delights hamper which has been displayed on the bar for the last week. The proceeds will go towards Lady Captains charity, ward 202, chemotherapy unit, Royal Stoke University Hospital. The winner was Carol Nixon. Chipping Green And Practice Area 

Anybody wishing to use the practice area and the balls provided is reminded that the balls must be picked up and returned to the bench before you leave the practice area. Also the chipping green is only designated for short shots (no more than 20 yards), please do not play full shots into the green.

Competition Start Times 

Members are reminded that they must adhere to their starting time as per the Start Sheet displayed in the Pro's Shop. Any changes must be sanctioned by either myself, Greg or Jake. An unfortunate incident occurred during the October Medal when a fourball teed off before their allotted Start Time which resulted in them being disqualified under Rule 6-3. 

We all run the risk of a penalty if we arrive late on the tee or tee off early, see Decisions 6-3a/2, 6-3a/2.5 and 6-3a/5. Times are governed by the 2 clocks on the edge of the Putting Green, one facing the Eleventh Tee, the other can be seen from the First Tee.
